Fall is the perfect time to gather together and celebrate the changing season. In this class, we will explore cultural traditions, as well as discovering and sharing your own family’s autumn traditions. Our journey will begin right here in the Willamette Valley with the Kalapuya people and continue as we learn about how the full moon is celebrated in China. We’ll take a peek into the Hindu festival of lights before our final exploration to Mexico, to learn how they honor the lives of their dead. Join us as we come together to celebrate autumn traditions!

Jennie Miller has spent the last two years with Club K as a Site Director at Scholls Heights. When on site, she engages kids in a variety of activities that caters to their interests and builds on academic and interpersonal skills. Now, of course, many students are staying home for distance learning… so Jennie leapt at the opportunity to bring Club K programming to the home! She is excited to bring her theater training and cooperative gaming experience to the table. Her interactive courses will focus on communication, cooperation, and team-building–with lots of fun and games thrown into the mix!
Laura Guptill joined Club K in the fall of the 2019-2020 school year as a substitute teacher, helping out at many of the Club K programs and meeting many wonderful students in the program. In January, she joined the McKinley team and is currently the Site Director there. She loves getting to know students, exploring their interests, and learning what they are passionate about. Laura has a background in environmental education and enjoys helping kids use their imaginations to explore the natural world around them.
