From animal exploration to makerspace crafts, we have plenty in store for you! Learn about the different ways that animals survive the cold winter season. We will take a look at the local critters here in the Pacific Northwest, as well as check out how the wildlife survive in the extreme cold at the North and South Poles. Tackle maker’s projects of various kinds, using simple materials to make an array of different cool and crafty items. During our 1st week of Winter Makerspace, we will explore crafts with yarn. We’ll start with learning some weaving basic techniques before making our own “Worry Dolls” that can keep us company during these winter days. Craft kit included!

Our 2nd week of Winter Makerspace brings us a chance to keep the festive feeling alive as we look towards the year ahead. First, we will make some decorative wreaths to put on display. After that, we will make our very own Resolution Jars to help us enter a new year on a positive note. Craft kit included!

Meet Your Digital Interactive Leaders

Jennie Miller

Jennie Miller has spent the last two years with Club K as a Site Director at Scholls Heights. When on site, she engages kids in a variety of activities that caters to their interests and builds on academic and interpersonal skills. Now, of course, many students are staying home for distance learning… so Jennie leapt at the opportunity to bring Club K programming to the home! She is excited to bring her theater training and cooperative gaming experience to the table. Her interactive courses will focus on communication, cooperation, and team-building–with lots of fun and games thrown into the mix!

Laura Guptill

Laura Guptill joined Club K in the fall of the 2019-2020 school year as a substitute teacher, helping out at many of the Club K programs and meeting many wonderful students in the program. In January, she joined the McKinley team and is currently the Site Director there. She loves getting to know students, exploring their interests, and learning what they are passionate about. Laura has a background in environmental education and enjoys helping kids use their imaginations to explore the natural world around them.
